In September Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani announced that he would quit politics soon and would not contest the 2024 elections. Nani is upset with the TDP leadership for its inaction against Bezawada group politics.
Apparently it all started during the Vijayawada Mayor elections. A couple of TDP leaders made serious allegations against Kesineni Nani. Upset with this episode, Nani approached TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu to intervene and resolve the issue. But Chandrababu could not look into this issue brought by Nani.
It’s been more than a month that Nani was waiting for some sort of action from Chandrababu and with no proper response, Nani decided to distance himself from the party. Accordingly this morning, Kesineni Nani removed TDP banners and pictures of him with party chief Chandrababu from his party office.
Also all the pictures inside the party office were also removed. In place of TDP and Chandrababu pictures, Nani put up a picture of him with Tata Groups chairman Ratan Tata.
The Vijayawada MP also informed the TDP cadre and his supporters that he would not be attending any party related events further in future.
It’s high time that Chandrababu and TDP get in touch with Kesineni Nani and give him a proper assurance to resolve the dispute at the earliest. If Nani is not pacified, it would be a massive loss for TDP in Vijayawada which has been its fort since its inception.
