The Telangana Congress has conceded a humiliating defeat in the Huzurabad by-elections. The party lost its deposit and could not even secure two percent of vote share. Reacting to this loss, T-PCC chief Revanth Reddy added that he would take complete responsibility.
“As President of T-PCC, I take responsibility for this defeat. This by-election arrived under unprecedented circumstances and the loss lifted spirits within me to work even better for the party. I’m optimistic the party will bounce back,” said Revanth.
The Malkajgiri MP also tried to pacify the Congress cadre. “I urge the Congress cadre to not get disappointed and be courageous for the future polls and fights. Candidates like Balmoor Venkat certainly have bright days ahead and our party will ensure to build young leaders like him,” added Revanth.
Telangana Congress in-charge Manickam Tagore also spoke to the media and added that the party will call for a meeting tomorrow and analyse the defeat. Congress seniors are expected to take part in this meeting and Revanth is likely to face the heat.
