AP Munici’poll’ Counting: All eyes on Kuppam

The counting for municipal elections got underway this morning and all eyes are on Kuppam which is the constituency of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu. As per the latest reports, YSRCP has won five wards and is leading at four places while TDP has just won one ward and is leading at two places.

The counting for the rest of the wards is going on. TDP and YSRCP are going neck-to-neck and the trend suggests that it would be a huge setback for Telugu Desam. But some dramatic scenes have taken place at the counting centre.

The police did not allow TDP agents while they allowed only the candidates. The police even restricted the media and warned the journalists of cases for capturing the counting process. This is illegal and the media has all rights to cover the counting process. Surprisingly the election officials allowed Sakshi and pro ruling party media inside the counting centre.

Looks like the YSRCP is playing tricks at Kuppam to give a major blow to Chandrababu by hook or crook.

In other places, the results are mixed. TDP has reportedly won Darshi Panchayati while the YCP has swept the entire Kadapa district. In Aakiveedu of West Godavari, TDP and Jana Sena have won two wards each and counting is in progress.
