FORMULA E Is Coming To Hyderabad!

In a proud moment, Hyderabad achieved an unprecedented distinction of becoming the first Indian candidate city to host the Formula E world championship. The first race of electric cars is expected to be held in 2022 and until March 2023.

A tripartite letter has been signed today by the Telangana government and Formula E Association along with the promoter of the event, Greenko, thus making Hyderabad a candidate host city for hosting the Formula E race annually. Formula E has overtaken F1 in a number of ways such as its technology becoming more advanced.

The improvement of technology of the Formula E cars is tremendous and is improving much better than F1 cars over the years, even though Formula E technology is in a nascent stage. Telangana, being one of the fastest-growing states in India, is now all set to welcome manufacturers who are investing more in Formula E than F1.

Moreover, the technology is Environment-friendly and companies feel that there is a Future in Formula E green technology than F1 technology. On Monday, the process has been initiated in the presence of Telangana’s Industry Minister KTR, FIA Formula E Chief Championship Officer Alberto Longo, Greenko Group Chief Executive Officer Anil Chalamasetty, Mahindra Racing CEO and Team Principal Dilbagh Gill and other officials.

After Rome, Paris, London, Hong Kong, New York, and Berlin, it is Hyderabad that will join the elite club of hosting the race organised every year by the Federation of Internationale de Automobile. KTR said Formula E is the right step to position Hyderabad as an electric vehicles hub. “It’s more than a race. It’s the perfect combination of future technology, sustainability and most importantly spirit of innovation,” he said.

In the next step, the leading EV players and charging infrastructure companies from around the world will be invited to the EV Summit. Starting its first race in 2014, Formula E is currently into its eighth season.
