Back in December, the Andhra BJP tried to ignite communal conflicts in the state by raking up the issue of Jinnah Tower and Jinnah Center in Guntur city. None expected that the issue would grab so much attention but it did and the state government swung into action immediately.
The Jinnah Tower was repainted with the tricolor recently by the local municipal corporation. Yet the BJP seems to be not satisfied. Reacting to this issue Telangana BJP MLA Raja Singh said, “I’m happy that the tower was repainted but why is it still carrying ‘Jinnah’ name?”
Suggesting the government to rename the tower after any personality, Raja Singh advised that the same tower can be renamed after AP CM Jagan’s father, YSR. BJP has no objections, if YSR’s name is put to the tower but Jinnah is a traitor and he deceived India.
Raja Singh’s comments are seriously silly but it’s (BJ)P) their aim to induce communal conflicts in AP and take advantage of it. Nevertheless, the YCP government has to take a call on renaming the tower and center which is a happening place in Guntur city.
