Jagan Reviews On Roads; Blames Naidu

It’s an open secret that the condition of roads all over Andhra Pradesh is horrible. Oppositions have been criticising the YCP government for showing extreme negligence in laying new roads and fixing the old ones. AP CM YS Jagan woke up late on this issue and on Monday he held a review with officials.

Throwing the blame on the previous TDP government and ex-CM Chandrababu, Jagan was a little unrest about the news being spread on social media that his government paid less attention towards development of new roads and repair works.

Allotting Rs 2205 crore for new roads, Jagan added that such a big allocation was never made in the history of Andhra Pradesh. Simultaneously CM Jagan instructed the officials to focus more on the construction of a beach corridor road from Visakhapatnam port to Bheemili-Bhogapuram connecting it to NH-16.

There are reports that Jagan is likely to shift to Vizag in April, accordingly he directed officials to work on the development of roads in and surrounding the beach city. “The beach corridor should be one of the best in the world. The time taken to reach Bhogapuram Airport from Visakhapatnam city and from the airport to the city should be faster with the construction of this road. There are restrictions on the flow of civilian flights at the present airport and the beach corridor should ease these restrictions,” added Jagan.

There are 33 Road Over Bridges (ROBs) pending for a long time Rs 571.3 crore has been sanctioned for the completion of these projects. Officials informed CM Jagan that 83 percent of tender works have been confirmed so far and by the end of this month, the full tenders will be finalised. Officials set the deadline of May end for the construction of new roads.
