Meet Bill Gates: After Naidu, it’s KTR

Asia’s largest life-science and healthcare forum, BioAsia summit concluded its two day virtual conference. Telangana IT and Municipal Administration minister KTR launched the 2022 edition of summit and he got an opportunity to interact with Microsoft founder Bill Gates who is representing the summit on behalf of his Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

On the first day of the summit, KTR talked on strengthening the healthcare system using advanced technology and streamlining it and also developing vaccines for a variety of challenges the world is facing. During the interaction KTR yet again pitched the brand Hyderabad on international platform and speaking he said, Hyderabad is developing 35 percent of the vaccines required for the world and listed out the aspirations of Life-sciences ecosystem to expand it to 100 million in the next decade.

Sharing a small glimpse of the interaction session, KTR wrote, “Thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with @billgates on #Healthcare & #Technology as part of our annual flagship event @BioAsiaofficial. Also introduced to him the vibrant #LifeSciences ecosystem of #Hyderabad. Thank you, Bill, for this fascinating opportunity! @BMGFIndia.”

Speaking on the occasion Bill Gates recalled his association with Hyderabad. He profoundly remembered his trip to the city when Microsoft had set up its only development centre outside the United States in Hyderabad. He further added that Hyderabad is both a technology hub and biology hub which connect to his career (Gates Foundation).

But the credit should go to ex-CM of erstwhile AP, Chandrababu Naidu who was instrumental in bringing Microsoft to Hyderabad and establishing Genome valley which hosts reputed pharma companies that are now able to produce vaccines for the world. The foundation was strong and the results are evident enough.
