The murder of former minister and Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s uncle Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy has been raking up allegations and counter criticism between the ruling YCP and Opposition TDP for the last few years.
Following a letter written by Viveka’s daughter Sunitha to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla alleging involvement of YCP MP Avinash Reddy in the high profile murder and also filing a writ petition in the court naming the suspects in the case, chief advisor to the YCP government Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy alleged that the TDP was hatching a political conspiracy by pitching Jagan’s own family members against the CM.
Sajjala made it clear that Jagan had been maintaining silence since long even when the opposition parties and the ‘yellow’ media were slinging mud against him only because he was a man of principles and abstained from criticising his own family members in the public. He alleged that Naidu had been involved in character assassination of the CM since the murder was committed three years ago.
The chief advisor to the government said that Sunitha and her husband Rajashekhar Reddy have fallen into the TDP trap and become pawns in the hands of Naidu, in the wake of
speculation that Sunitha would be fielded as a TDP candidate in the next general elections.
Sajjala also expressed doubts over the allegations levelled by Sunitha in phases and also pointed out to irregularities in the wording used in chargesheet filed under IPC Sec 161.
There is mention of ‘kodi katti’ in the chargesheet and the public knows who uses the phrase more often, Sajjala said.
On the whole, the TDP has been trying to drag Jagan Mohan Reddy into the murder by pointing fingers at Avinash Reddy and YCP leader Devireddy Sivasankar Reddy, stated Ramakrishna Reddy.
Further, he said Sunitha could contest the polls ad TDP candidate but need not stoop to such a low level and act at the behest of the TDP boss.
However, the TDP leaders continue to shout at the top of their voice about Jagan’s role in the murder.
