Time Over For TDP Seniors: Naidu Sends A Message!

Is TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu going to set the party seniors aside for the next elections? His comments have indirectly meant so. “Party and I have high regards for the seniors but what is the point if they can’t fetch at least decent votes in the elections? If seniors insist on party tickets then TDP shall remain in opposition all the time,” stated Chandrababu Naidu.

Going by these comments, it looks like Chandrababu has made up his mind to put the seniors aside for the next elections and tickets to them is a big doubt. Seniors like Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Kala Venkat Rao need special mention here. The former finance minister lost the elections two times and later Yanamala lobbied for his brother’s ticket. There was no change in the result. With back to back defeats, the Yanamala family is unlikely to get a Tuni ticket in the next elections.

There are many TDP seniors and they will win the elections if there is a wave of TDP in the state. But in difficult times, the seniors and their political charisma fails miserably. The other thing with TDP seniors is that they are stubborn on contesting or their heirs should contest from their respective constituencies.

Chandrababu is in thoughts to give a shock to such stubborn senior leaders. Preparing the seniors to lay back, Chandrababu gave a word that he would allot forty percent of tickets to the youngsters in the next elections. Now the ball is in the TDP chief’s court and he needs to stick to his words and give opportunities to youngsters who are really capable and can make the YCP sweat in the elections.

But Chandrababu needs to begin his work right away without wasting much time. And when it comes to youngsters, it doesn’t mean the successors of TDP seniors. Instead Naidu should bring in fresh blood and if they are encouraged, the party can grow in size. Chandrababu can also take the credit of introducing new faces/leaders to the people.

On the whole, Chandrababu seems to have made a firm decision in the case of seniors. Let’s see what they do in the end.
