TRS Demands ‘Bharat Ratna’ For NTR

The demand for ‘Bharat Ratna’ to the pride of Telugu community, NTR has been a long pending wish. Though multiple times, this proposal was made, the government of India did not honour it owing to unknown reasons. But the appeal came mostly from the Telugu Desam Party’s side because NTR was the founder of the party and he brought revolutionary changes in AP politics.

Surprisingly now TRS party has placed this demand that NTR should be conferred with ‘Bharat Ratna.’ Marking the birth anniversary of NTR, TRS ministers and leaders paid rich tributes to the actor cum politician at NTR ghats.

Speaking on the occasion, TRS MP Nama Nageswara Rao said, “NTR deserves Bharat Ratna for his invaluable contribution towards the Telugu states. Our party would place this demand before the government of India in the next Parliament sessions.” MP Nama also added that former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao is also eligible to receive Bharat Ratna.

Minister Malla Reddy added that he is a fan of NTR. “Not just me, many of my colleagues have association with NTR and TDP. As a mark of respect, we paid homage and NTR should be given the Bharat Ratna title,” said Malla Reddy.

The TRS leaders also revealed that the state government is planning to hold the centennial celebrations next year in a grand manner.

However, the TRS ministers and leaders did not offer tributes to NTR on behalf of the state government but they arrived in their individual capacity.
