Opinion: Jagan Afraid Of Coup In YCP?

Ever since YS Jagan is made as the Permanent President of YSRCP, there have been several rumours and speculations doing the rounds in political circles. Particularly, AP politicians are busy speculating what made Jagan take such a drastic step by amending the party’s constitution.

Buzz is that Jagan is worried about a possible coup in YSRCP. Be it distancing her sister YS Sharmila or now showing door to her mother YS Vijayamma from the post of honorary president and becoming YSRCP’s permanent president, several doubts are raising among YSRCP leaders that whether Jagan is afraid of a possible couple in his party.

Seeing incidents like Shiv Sena in Maharashtra and AIADMK in Tamil Nadu soon after the demise of Jayalalithaa, and TDP where founder NTR was ousted and Chandrababu Naidu took over the reigns, there are umpteen such examples in Indian politics where political parties witnessed splits and internal coups. Probably, Jagan Reddy is also fearing such and it would have propelled him to make himself the YSRCP’s President Forever.

All in all, the move is sending wrong signals for sure. Doesn’t Jagan believe in democratic process within his party? It can be noted that the democratic process in a political party is as crucial as the democracy through which the parties get elected to power. So, this move by Jagan may backfire. Let’s wait and see.
