RRR Gets Y Category Security

Narsapuram MP Raghurama Krishna Raju has been approved the Y Category Security by the Ministry of Home Affairs. This move is seen as a setback to YSRCP which has been trying to corner Raghuramakrishna Raju who turned into a diatribe of the party and its chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy. With the Y Category security, Raju gets 10 to 11 security personnel including two commandos and two PSOs who will be guarding him constantly.

Last month, the Centre approved similar Y category security to Mulayam Singh’s daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav. Interestingly, Aparna Yadav, who represents Samajwadi Party, has been targeting her own party.

As very few leaders in the country have been accorded Y-level security, this once again proved Raju’s strong bond with the BJP’s top brass. Amidst rumours over Raju’s proximity to the BJP and his influence at the Central level, this has added fuel to the ongoing speculations.

It can be noted that Raghurama Krishna Raju had earlier appealed to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and sought special security to him claiming that his life is under threat from his own party leaders in his parliamentary constituency.

After that, Raju’s security was beefed up and he got 4+4 security from his previous 2+2 security. However, Raju felt that it was not sufficient as he has been receiving open threats from YSRCP MLAs and local leaders who dared him to step into the constituency.
