DS Wishes Sharmila To Be CM Of Telangana

The above statement was made by senior Telangana politician, D Srinivas. YSRTP chief YS Sharmila met D Srinivas at the latter’s residence earlier in the day and this meeting ignited some unwanted political speculations.

Apparently Sharmila paid a courtesy call to D Srinivas for the association he shared with YSR and how DS and YSR worked hand-in-hand for the Congress party in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. Sharmila asked DS health details and during the interaction, DS predicted some unusual stuff.

“Before the 2004 general elections, I told YSR that he will become the Chief Minister and now with all my political experience, I’m certain that Sharmila will become the CM of Telangana in future,” said DS.

That was a bold prediction from DS but his political experience cannot be ignored. And is that any indication that DS might join Sharmila’s party? Having completed his Rajya Sabha tenure, DS is currently not in any political or constitutional position. Though he is still a member of TRS party, KCR is least bothered about DS. A couple of months back there were reports that DS might return to Congress but nothing as such happened.

And about the speculations, if DS joins YSRTP, Sharmila party can gain the trust of the BC community which is a significant vote bank in Telangana. According to a recent survey report Sharmila might dent the chances of Telangana Congress to form the next government and political developments like Sharmila meeting DS, are setting unexpected things for the 2023 Assembly polls.
