AP Animal Husbandry minister Seediri Appalaraju invited flak from devotees at Tirumala. On Thursday, Appalaraju with nearly 150 supporters reached Tirumala and he demanded for a VIP darshan for himself and his aides.
Initially the TTD was hesitant but minister Appalaraju was pressuring the officials constantly to permit him and his henchmen to take the blessings of Lord Balaji during the VIP protocol break. With the minister’s force, the TTD allowed minister Appalaraju and his supporters.
This is blatant misuse of power by the minister and devotees expressed anger for keeping them waiting for hours. But minister Appalaraju defended that he and his supporters were in queue just like a common man while devotees were not troubled.
Minister Appalaraju always gets involved in controversies. Earlier this year he reportedly misbehaved with a CI in Vizag when CM Jagan visited Sharada Peetham. In this episode the police department found fault with the minister and demanded an apology but Appalaraju never regretted his behaviour.
