Some Relief To Lokesh In Mangalagiri

With elections just two years away, every political party in AP has begun their homework. Who will get ticket? Who will win? Are some of the questions being heard in every political party. The fact is this time the elections are going to be different and for politicians, it is a huge task ahead. Within the ruling party, the political heat and competition is immense.

The YCP high command has done an independent survey recently and the report is kind of a setback for the ruling party. Especially in Mangalagiri which is YCP’s strong hold, the influence is coming down and swinging into action, the party laid special focus here.

Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy stunned Nara Lokesh in the previous elections and it was a huge shocker for the TDP. But circumstances have taken a u-turn now. The popularity of MLA Alla is coming down for many reasons, revealed an internal survey.

One of the prime reasons for MLA Alla’s poor show is, he is not available for people in the constituency. Post the floods he toured a few villages in the constituency and he received flak from the people. He was questioned about the promises that were made during the last elections. Surprisingly MLA Alla had no answers for people’s questions and on garbage tax, MLA Alla faced the heat of women. He felt embarrassed in this episode.

Alla’s availability is also a big issue. Most of the time he is spotted at the party office in Tadepalli and is building his personal image with the high command but that doesn’t yield him any result. All these factors are now working against the two timer MLA.

Besides this, the capital row is also reflected on MLA Alla. He was one of the first persons to support CM Jagan’s ‘Three Capitals’ proposal and for Mangalagiri’s development, his contribution is very minimal.

On the contrary TDP’s Nara Lokesh who lost in 2019, is visiting Mangalagiri every now and then. He toured the constituency a couple of times and he gained people’s trust to a significant level. If things continue the same way, MLA Alla would have to sweat hard for seeking a third term but TDP is hopeful that it would breach the Mangalagiri fort with a record majority.
