The other day Anantapur SP in a press meet stated that the video involving Hindupur MP Gorantla Madhav was a fake one. But the police official added that they found out about it in the preliminary investigation and the probe is still on. With the police claiming it a fake video, MP Madhav was relieved.
Well that’s not over yet. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has entered the scene. The chairperson of NCW Rekha Sharma has written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and expressed seriousness. “If allegations are true, take appropriate action against the MP Gorantla Madhav,” mentioned Rekha Sharma in her letter.
The NCW also ordered AP DGP to do a detailed investigation to verify the facts and submit a report to the commission. But the commission did not set any time frame for the report and so this could take a while.
Before that Punjab MP Jasbir Singh Gill and Telugu Desam Mahila wing president V Anitha took Gorantla’s scandal to the notice of NCW. Punjab MP Gill complained against Gorantla to PM Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker. He added that the video has tarnished the image of Parliamentarians and is deeply impacting the legitimacy of the institution of Parliament.
Looks like more trouble for Gorantla ahead with NCB writing to Lok Sabha Speaker and ordering AP DGP to investigate and report.
