TDP-Janasena Reunion Okay; What About Seat Sharing?

The political atmosphere in AP suggests that Telugu Desam and Jana Sena might reunite yet it is too early to predict this reunion. For TDP, there would be benefits and after effects as well with this alliance. Chief Chandrababu Naidu is seriously thinking on both positives and negatives in case both the parties reunite.

However, we hear that the TDP leaders are putting a lot of pressure on Chandrababu not to ally with the Jana Sena. At the moment none can assume what will happen in the coming days but the attitude of TDP leaders towards Jana Sena is something not pleasing.

Former MLA of Amudalavalasa, Kuna Ravikumar stated that if Jana Sena allies with TDP, Pawan’s party will be given 15 Assembly seats and 2 or 3 Lok Sabha seats to contest. On the contrary some leaders of Jana Sena have informed chief Pawan Kalyan to ask at least 50 Assembly constituencies and six Parliamentary seats if the reunion happens.

Pawan Kalyan has been constantly saying that Jana Sena will be in the government after the next election. It seems that Pawan’s idea is to have Jana Sena government either alone or in alliances. Going by ex-TDP MLA’s statements, it is highly doubtful that Pawan would accept just 15 Assembly and single digit Parliament seats sharing with the TDP because with such low numbers forming a government is impossible.

Not just Kuna, some time back TDP senior leader Ayyannapatrudu also commented that the seats would be allocated based on the percentage of votes received by the parties. Jana Sena secured just five percent vote share in the last elections and going by Ayyanapatrudu’s comment, Jana Sena might be allotted just 9 seats if there is an alliance.

All this seems to be that TDP leaders have a bad impression on Jana Sena and are not willing to give prominence to Pawan’s party. Such views may misfire when it comes to elections and it would severely affect TDP’s chances to dethrone Jagan government.
