It’s been three years that Telugu Desam is away from the government and in the last three years, the main opposition faced many ups and downs. Yet Chandrababu hasn’t lost hope and he is working with the same enthusiasm. On the contrary, the TDP leaders are not showing any interest. There is no coordination between leaders and with personal disputes, leaders are damaging the party’s reputation.
TDP leaders also lack a clear plan to organise protests against YCP government policies. The situation is same across the state including TDP’s strongholds like Anantapur, Krishna and Guntur districts. There are 48 Assembly constituencies and 7 Parliamentary segments in these three districts. In all these three districts, the cadre is still strong but all that is needed is an efficient leadership to lead them.
With lack of leadership, the YCP has set its eyes on the constituencies where TDP holds a strong ground. But a few TDP leaders who believe that 2019 was a fluke, have taken their constituencies on a lighter note. Taking this advantage, the YCP is working to gain strength.
Seeing the YCP’s political moves in the respective constituencies, TDP sympathisers are worried about the party’s future and suspect double-trouble in 2024. They opined that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu lays more focus on those constituencies where TDP can make YCP sweat during the polls. The next elections are two years away and Chandrababu has ample time to fact check and work on it
