After repealing the ‘Three Capitals’ bill, the Andhra Pradesh government categorically stated that it would certainly come up with a fresh bill that doesn’t invite any legal troubles. However, there is a suspense on when the YCP government would bring a new bill. Giving out hints, AP minister IT minister Gudiavada Amarnath said that it might be tabled in the coming Assembly session.
The AP government is planning to hold Assembly sessions from 12th of this month but a final call is yet to be taken. On September 7th, CM Jagan called for a cabinet meeting and in this meeting, the Assembly sessions schedule will be discussed.
But it is unclear whether the AP government will table the ‘Three Capitals’ bill in the cabinet and then move it to AP Assembly. The confusion surrounding this continues but minister Amarnath gave more clarity that their government will implement ‘Three Capitals’ before 2024 elections.
“We are not thinking of 2024 on ‘Three Capitals’ and it might happen much sooner. We are not bothered about the views and opinions of Chandrababu Naidu or Lokesh. General public would also approve our ‘Three Capitals’ bill,” said minister Amarnath.
These statements from the YCP minister yet again ignited a political debate surrounding the ‘Three Capitals.’ From YCP insiders we hear that the ‘Three Capitals’ bill is currently not the government’s agenda while some did not rule out the possibility.
