KCR to field candidates in Gujarat Elections ?

KCR

Just a day after winning the Munugode by-election, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi aka TRS has issued a public notification changing its name to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). This victory has pumped up the TRS party and its chief KCR. To carry the same momentum, KCR is said to be considering contesting the Gujarat Assembly elections that are scheduled on December 1st and 5th.

Regarding the same KCR will be flying to New Delhi very soon and he will take the opinion of a few regional party leaders. After due consultation, KCR will decide whether to contest the Gujarat Assembly polls.

Simultaneously KCR is speculated to be sending his intelligence sources to Gujarat to enquire about the election mood and also hold talks with Telangana and Telugu settlers. In Surat, Navsari and Choryasi Assembly constituencies, there is a decent Telugu speaking population and intelligence sources will talk with them and might do a minor survey on KCR’s popularity and in case if BRS contests, how will the settlers respond.

KCR asked the intelligence sources to find out whether any settler is interested in contesting for the elections on behalf of BRS. The settlers who have a good following, are influential and can incur the financial expenditure for the elections are the target, KCR informed the intelligence sources.

On the other hand, the TRS is looking at the Election Commission of India (ECI) for the name change proposal. Already a delegation of TRS had met ECI officials and informed about the party change. But the ECI is very much occupied with Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat Assembly polls and TRS suspect that the name change might take some more time.

Just in case if the ECI delays TRS name change, KCR did not decide on plan B and as time progresses, KCR will lay steps to contest in Gujarat polls. For now it is too early to predict BRS contesting in PM Narendra Modi’s home state.
