In a jolt to YS Jagan’s family, the Centre has banned the charitable trust run by CM YS Jagan’s mother YS Vijayamma. According to various news reports, YS Vijayamma charitable trust’s registration was revoked by the centre. The trust is operated by YS Vijayamma to help the poor and needy in the region.
The move by the Centre is for allegedly violating Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 norms and for allegedly involving in misusing foreign funds for illegal, conversion & banned activities. The Union Government has also filed a case against the trust under section 14 of FCRA.
However, YS Vijayamma’s charitable trust was not alone whose registration was cancelled and case was booked. Apart from this, the Centre cancelled registrations of 168 Non-Profitable Organisations in Andhra Pradesh and 90 Non-Profitable Organisations in Telangana.
Neither YS Vijayamma nor anyone from the family has responded to the issue. More details are awaited.
