Congress party has given a rude shock to its senior leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. Komatireddy is currently Lok Sabha MP from Bhongir constituency. However, the party has dropped his name from crucial panels. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) appointed the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) and the Pradesh Executive Committee (PEC), the state-level decision-making panels, on Saturday. Komatireddy’s name was nowhere featured in these panels and thus raising many eyeballs.
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy was absent at Congress Munugode by-election campaign against his brother Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy who contested on BJP ticket. Venkat Reddy also didn’t take part actively in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. Thus, Komatireddy has been inactive in the party’s activities.
Meanwhile, MLA D Sridhar Babu, who is incharge for Karnataka, asked his name to be replaced in the list with any other senior leader in the PAC and PEC. Sridhar Babu left a text message to Telangana Congress incharge Manickam Tagore to replace his name with any other senior leader whose name isn’t in the panel. Apparently, Sridhar Babu is upset with not considering the names he suggested for the District Congress Committee posts.
Former Jubilee Hills MLA and son of PJR, P Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, was dropped from the state office bearers. Whereas PRJ’s daughter and Vishnu’s sister P Vijaya Reddy was appointed in the state office bearers. This move doesn’t go well with Vishnu who has been opposing and not in talking terms with his sister P Vijaya Reddy.
PAC & PEC
The Political Affairs Committee featured key names Revanth Reddy, Bhatti Vikramarka, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Geetha Reddy, V Hanumantha Rao, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Sridhar Babu, Madhu Yashki, Raja Narasimha, Renuka Chowdary, Balram Naik, Chinna Reddy. The PAC chairman is Manickam Tagore.
The Executive Committee has 40 prominent leaders including Jagga Reddy, Anjan Kumar, Mahesh Goud, Azharuddin. This committee is headed by its chairman Revanth Reddy.
Reddy Community Domination
Clearly, the Reddy community has dominated in all the panels and committees appointed. 42.3% of DCC presidents, 27.3% of general secretaries and PAC, and 35% per cent of PEC are from the Reddy community. This is startling as majority in the decision-making panels in Telangana Congress belong to the community.
