YSRTP chief YS Sharmila laid the foundation stone for the party office at Palair today and this has many revelations. Apparently after entering the Telangana politics, Sharmila was looking for an Assembly constituency to contest. After a lot of thought process, she zeroed upon Palair constituency.
Sharmila’s mother YS Vijayamma graced this event and speaking on the occasion, Vijayamma made interesting comments. “Palair is a special place for Sharmila just like Pulivendula is for YS Rajasekhar Reddy. I think there is also a special bond between Sharmila and Khammam. After stepping into Telangana politics, she held her first public meeting here and she also commenced her first leg of Paadayatra from Palair. Maybe this is God’s direction,” added Vijayamma.
With Sharmila very much willing to contest from Palair, this constituency is going to witness a strange and tough fight in 2023. In the last elections, BRS candidate Thummala Nageswara Rao contested and lost to Congress candidate Kandala Upender Reddy. Now Kandala is in BRS and there are reports that KCR might prefer Kandala over Thummala.
On the other hand Thummala is doing everything to get a B-form. Although there are reports that he might not get a ticket, Thummala tried to show his dominance with a few meetings. In one meeting he said he would stick with KCR and in another meeting he credited late NTR for his political growth.
Overall, Palair appears to be a tough nut to crack and we have to see whom will the people elect as their MLA.
