Minister Ushasri Charan was forced to experience the inconvenience of travelling on bad roads during her tour in Anantapur district. During her visit to Kundurpi mandal, the minister had to get down her four-wheeler and travel on a two-wheeler for quite some distance as the road was not laid and her convoy could not proceed.
As part of Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhutvam, the minister reached the mandal and interact with the voters. In the wake of the severe criticism against the YCP government for neglecting repairing the roads, the video of the minister travelling on a two-wheeler on a kaccha road, on way to Kollarahatti village, went viral.
It may be recalled a minister of neighbouring Telangana also mocked at the poor condition of roads in Andhra Pradesh, during one of his speeches.
The Gadapa Gadapaku programme was initiated by the YCP government to create awareness among the public about various welfare schemes being implemented in the state. The CM also released some funds to enable the legislators take up some emergency works in their constituencies.
Without the public needing to raise the issue of bad roads, the minister herself understood their primary requirement. Now, it has to be seen if the minister would take up the road works.
