Another YCP MLA Upset?

Published by

The list of MLAs from YCP who are upset with the party leadership is growing. It all started in Nellore with Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and Anam Ramnarayana Reddy raising their voice against the YCP high command. They alleged that the YCP has deployed an eagle eye with the help of intelligence against many MLAs.

The latest is that one more MLA is on the course to join Kotamreddy and Anam Ramnarayana Reddy. He is Vasantha Krishna Prasad. Representing Mylavaram constituency, this MLA has been battling against minister Jogi Ramesh.

The YCP high command, which has knowledge of the cold war between Vasantha and Jogi Ramesh, summoned district in-charge and former MLA Marri Rajasekhar to negotiate the differences. Adding a twist to the tale, the supporters of both Vasantha and Jogi Ramesh clashed before Marri Rajasekhar. This clash showed that Vasantha and Jogi Ramesh’s cold war will not end anytime soon.

Besides this MLA Vasantha was unhappy with YCP for quite some time now. He objected to the arrest of NRI Vuyyur Srinivas in connection with the stampede that took place in Guntur. “We lost Amaravati and with arrests, we might lose the support of NRIs,” said Vasantha reacting to Vuyyur’s arrest.

The YCP did not receive Vasantha’s comments well but remained absolutely motionless from taking any action against the Mylavaram MLA. These developments suggest that very soon MLA Vasantha will take his own course in the coming days, said political observers.

With elections approaching, the YCP is losing MLAs one after another and that will create hurdles for CM Jagan’s ambitious target of winning all the 175 Assembly constituencies.
