Liquor scam: ED summons Kavitha

24 hours after arresting Hyderabad based businessman Arun Ramachandra Pillai, the Enforcement Directorate has summoned BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha Rao. In the notices, the ED has asked Kavitha to appear before it on Thursday in New Delhi

From media reports, the ED has summoned Kavitha based on the remand report of Ramachandra Pillai. In the questioning by ED, Pillai reportedly mentioned Kavitha’s name multiple times and taking his statements into cognizance, the ED wants to question Kavitha and extract more information in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy.

It is unclear whether Kavitha will make it to ED’s probe. In case Kavitha appears before the ED, she will be flooded with questions and if she doesn’t cooperate, she might be arrested, reports the media.

Recently in a Telugu news channel interview, Kavitha opened up on using ten mobile phones as stated by CBI in its supplementary FIR. She acknowledged having ten mobiles but denied destroying them. “I have all ten phones with me and in case any probe agency wants them, I will hand over them without any second thought,” said Kavitha in the interview.

So far ED has arrested 11 people in the liquor scam and Telangana political circles have heated up claiming that Kavitha’s time has come.
