Politics are like cricket: AP BJP chief

The Andhra BJP faced bitter results in the Graduate and Local authorities constituencies MLC elections. A review meeting was held on Tuesday in Vijayawada and in this meeting AP BJP chief Somu Veerraju compared politics with cricket.

“I remember the words of Pramod Mahajan. He compared politics with cricket. Winning and losing are part and parcel of the electoral process and politics. We will win some and get defeated in some. Recently team India won matches against Australia but the other day they were outplayed,” said Veerraju.

The BJP leader further added that the results of MLC election are not permanent but the commitment of every party in Karyakarta worked hard. “I thank all the party activists who have worked day and night for our candidate’s victory. Somehow we could not get the desired result yet we will move forward,” said Somu. He continued making allegations against the YCP government that it is looting all natural resources and public money.

The review meeting of the AP BJP ended up making no concrete steps to strengthen the party and it sounded more like a routine meeting held for namesake to place it before the national high command.
