Resigned Ganta Casts Vote In MLC Polls

When the privatization of the Vizag steel plant was announced, TDP MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao was the first person to react and tender his resignation. This happened almost two years back and till date Ganta’s resignation was not approved by AP Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitharam.

Amidst this resignation row, MLA Ganta was spotted at the AP Assembly on Thursday and he did cast his vote for the MLC elections. Post casting his vote, Ganta was confronted by the media and was asked about his resignation.

“My resignation was not approved by the Assembly Speaker and I have no clue why he did not approve it. Accordingly, I’m here to cast my vote and all the buzz that is being spread about my resignation is just a mind game of YCP. There is no truth in it,” said the Vizag North constituency MLA.

Further Ganta added that TDP’s candidate Anuradha will secure a win. “We have our political strategies and we can’t reveal them to the media. But we are confident that Anuradha will win the MLC election,” said Ganta.

Ganta’s statements alerted the YCP which is already feeling the heat with four MLAs moving out of the hotel rooms on Wednesday midnight. TDP leaders also claimed that 16 YCP MLAs will vote for TDP’s candidate.

All of a sudden the MLC elections have intensified the political atmosphere in the state and for sure, YCP is going to receive some unexpected setbacks which it did not see coming.
