Why Not 175 was the slogan of AP CM YS Jagan Reddy and it is his overconfidence that his party, YCP would clean sweep all the 175 Assembly constituencies in the 2024 elections. Telugu Desam chief Chandrababu Naidu seems to have taken up Jagan’s slogan and with full authority, he added that his party, TDP would defeat CM Jagan in his backyard, Pulivendula.
As part of three districts tour, TDP chief Naidu landed in Vizag and he held a zonal meeting. Vizag TDP leaders graced this meeting and Naidu instructed the leaders and cadre to be prepared for the elections. There has been buzz about early polls and Naidu summoned every leader to be on their toes for the political and poll fight with YCP.
Naidu drew a comparison between the YCP Sarkar and the previous TDP government. “TDP has never ever harassed people this way and that’s why the party has a special place in the hearts of people. TDP’s legacy is still on,” commented Naidu.
“The MLC elections are just a teaser and the main fight is yet to come. Whenever the Assembly polls are held, TDP will script history by defeating YCP and Jagan,” said Naidu.
Taking on Jagan, Naidu said, “This chief minister is saying ‘Why Not 175’ and I would like to say ‘Why Not Pulivendula?’ Until the other day, MLAs were humiliated by Jagan and with MLC election results, he started giving respect to them out of insecurity. That’s the impact of TDP.”
Further, Naidu questioned why should Telugu Desam disclose whether it would contest all the 175 Assembly constituencies? “Whether we will contest in all the constituencies is not a matter of concern but TDP will defeat YCP in 175 places and throw the ruling party in Bay of Bengal,” stated Naidu.
The TDP chief commented so in an overconfident tone and this is something that should have been avoided. Political analysts were critical of Jagan when he raked up the ‘Why Not 175’ slogan and they have the same opinion on Naidu claiming that TDP would defeat Jagan at Pulivendula.
