The ‘Gap’ Causing More Harm To YCP?

The YCP MLAs are a dissatisfied lot what with none to hear and address their problems. They are going into the public claiming that they would redress their grievances but there is nobody to hear to their requests and pleas. All of them blamed one of the advisor in the government. However, a few of them are fearing to take his name but are venting out their anger at him, at least in their inner circles.

“We know our capabilities. Why should he poke his nose into our affairs,” a majority of the MLAs questioned. Off the record, they are just vexed with him.

At one point of time, the YCP MLAs used to have a good rapport with their boss and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. They used to have the facility to speak with him directly but after the formation of the government, there is a gap developed and widened between the CM and his party MLAs only to put him on a pedestal and project him as a leader extraordinaire. It is this gap which is causing harm to the YCP now.

If any MLA wants to speak to the CM, he/she has to pass through the standard procedure of approaching the CMO first and then seeking the permission of the advisor.

Many of the MLAs are expressing their frustration over the unnecessary powers given to the advisor, mainly because they have not got ministerial berths during the last cabinet expansion due to his involvement in the decision-making process.

They are also angry that one person belonging to Guntur and newcomers were given priority in allocation of the ministries, due to the advisor.

All these steps are wedging a divide between the CM and MLAs, alienating the latter from the party, observed political analysts.

In fact, the involvement of an advisor should ensure that everything works smooth but this senior leader in the party is only making things complicated. Many of the YCP leaders are not happy with the advisor and want a change in the hierarchy of the party. It has to be seen if their wish would be a reality.
