What’s Worrying Chandrababu?

TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu is facing a tough time in finalising on allocation of the party tickets for the upcoming general elections. Unable to decide on the leaders to whom the tickets should be given, he has been going on tours to districts thrice every month. He is taking all precautions to ensure that there is no dissidence among the party leaders with regard to allocation of B-forms.

At the same time, he also should ensure that the chosen candidate would have high chances of winning the polls.

Naidu is planning to bring about a change in the party by fielding young leaders as party candidates for the 2024 elections and he is being bombarded with pleas from senior leaders to consider their children as potential party candidates for the next polls.

With speculation rife that the TDP would win the next elections, the party senior leaders want their heirs to settle in politics. Many senior leaders were learnt to have communicated to the party boss expressing willingness to stay away from active politics and give a chance to their heirs.

However, Naidu is not happy with many of the young leaders as a survey done by his trusted lieutenants revealed that they do not have acumen for politics except show-off in the public that they are the heirs from some politically influential families. The survey also revealed that several of these political heirs were becoming a laughing stock by failing to be relevant to the times and also to public needs. The TDP boss found that the young leaders were not interested in learning the basics of politics but vying to occupy minister posts.

Naidu is planning to prepare a strong coterie for his son and TDP scion N. Lokesh who is on Yuva Galam padayatra but he is not able to find the right candidates to fit the bill.

Prominent among the political heirs are Chintakayala Vijay, son of senior leader Ayyana Patrudu. There are reports that Ayyana Patrudu is insisting on Anakapalle MP ticket for his son while Ganta Srinivas Rao is asking Naidu to give MLA ticket to his son Ganta Ravi Teja.

Kala Venkat Rao is also interested in getting an MLA ticket for his son Kimidi Ram Malik.

Former Speaker Pratibha Bharati had already sent her daughter Greeshma to the party’s Mahanadu and the young female leader is also very active and proving her mettle in politics. Greeshma is insisting the party give a ticket to her.

Paritala Sunita is also seeking party ticket for her son Paritala Sriram.

The JC brothers are also sending indications to the TDP boss that they would like to see their sons JC Pawan and JC Asmit as Gen Next leaders in the state. Party senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu is planning to field his daughter Divya from the Tuni constituency, with the party boss’ permission.

Naidu is worried over how to accommodate all the heirs in the party and yet have a strong leadership both at the top and ground-level.
