Bare Body Politics In AP!

Politics and movies are closely related because many film stars jump into politics once their career in the show industry starts dimming. However, what works in films does not work in politics. It is a whole new ball game which needs convincing the public with logic and some concrete work on the ground, instead of show-off like in the tinsel town.

But, politicians in Andhra Pradesh have now switched to showing off their bare bodies like film stars — of course, sans the six-pack abs and the chiselled body.

Recently, when TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu visited Yerragondipalem in erstwhile Prakasam district, the YCP cadre tried to obstruct him. Instead of the usual dharna, the constituency in-charge and former minister Adimulapu Suresh led the protest stripping off his shirt, following an altercation with the TDP men.

In Tadipatri too, one of the JC brothers, JC Prabhakar Reddy, too showed his bare torso after flexis which tried to project him as ‘diesel thief’ were erected in the town reportedly by the supporters of MLA Kethireddy Peddareddy. Prabhakar Reddy created a scene at one of the flexis by raising slogans against the MLA and kissing the flexi. Further, he took off his shirt and began claiming that he is the ‘gaja donga’ who had stolen people’s heart, leaving the public wondering over the reason behind his antics.

Neither Suresh nor Prabhakar Reddy are youngsters and illiterate. Suresh worked as an officer in the Indian Railways and Prabhakar Reddy is also literate. Then why should they stoop to staging such cheap tricks? There is buzz that they have resorted to the unwarranted action only to grab people’s attention, as both of them are fearing that they have lost the charm in the public.
