The topic of Jr NTR in Telugu Desam circles is always a matter that draws a lot of attention. It seemed that Tarak was kept at bay by Nandamuri and Nara families but he eventually got close to the families especially to Nandamuri Balakrishna and Nara Chandrababu Naidu. With building rapport, he stepped into the political arena in 2009.
Jr NTR campaigned for Telugu Desam but the party could not win the elections. Post this election, some dramatic developments took place which widened the gap between Tarak and his babai, NBK and Naidu. Nevertheless Tarak fans had a ray of hope that someday he would turn active in TDP again and take the lead.
A section of fans allege that Tarak is intentionally being sidelined by NBK and Naidu. They also believe that it is being done to uplift TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh in the party. On that note, whenever the topic of Jr NTR turns into a debate within TDP’s circles, the reaction from Nara Lokesh has something to do with it.
At the Yuva Galam Paadayatra, Nara Lokesh made surprising comments on the ‘RRR’ actor. “Jr NTR is most welcome to politics. Whoever believes that Andhra Pradesh should progress and prosper, they should step into politics,” added Lokesh.
Later when the TDP leader visited a hotel in Kurnool district, he noticed many pictures of NTR there. “Our guy is all over,” (ekkada chusina maa vadi photole ga..) commented Lokesh. Some neutral TDP activists were of the opinion that Lokesh is not insecure of NTR and has a positive approach which is a good sign for the party.
