The Telangana Assembly elections are going to be crucial for BRS and Telangana CM KCR. From BRS party sources, KCR has already commenced work for the polls and last week at the plenary session, he served a last warning to all the MLAs. Simultaneously KCR had a couple of plans for himself and this time, there are high chances of him opting out of his current constituency, Gajwel.
BRS insiders say that CM KCR might contest from two places and accordingly he is searching for suitable constituencies in Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda districts. The reason being is that the BRS party did not expand or get strengthened in these two districts as anticipated by KCR. If the party chief contests from either of the districts, the party’s cadre would work with full efforts and get the desired results. On the other hand, KCR is confident that even if he leaves Gajwel, the party will retain the seat.
In Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda, the Congress party has a strong cadre and presence. Telangana PCC chief Revanth Reddy represents Mahbubnagar and Revanth wants to show his full stamina in the coming elections by picking the right candidates who can give a tough fight to the BRS party.
Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy hails from Nalgonda and he is going to take the Assembly elections prestigiously only to prove his mettle to the Congress high command. Apart from this, Komatireddy is willing to contest for the Assembly and just in case Congress forms government, he wants to lead it.
BRS chief KCR opting for these two districts is a strategy to improve the party’s chances and damage that of Congress. Though the constituencies are not finalized, he is taking the opinion of local party leaders to come to a conclusion.
