Now, Jagan Brings Up Sikh Corporation In AP

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced the establishment of an exclusive corporation for the development of the Sikh community in the state. This declaration came during a meeting with a delegation of Sikhs, led by Jithendarjith Singh, a member of the Andhra Pradesh State Minorities Commission.

During the meeting, the Sikh delegation expressed their gratitude for the benefits they have received through various government schemes, facilitated by village and ward secretariats. However, they emphasized the need for a dedicated corporation to ensure effective implementation of the Navaratnalu schemes for Sikhs and affiliated communities.

Responding promptly to their request, Chief Minister Jagan Reddy approved the formation of a committee for Sikhs. The committee will work towards the establishment of the proposed corporation, which aims to address the specific needs and aspirations of the Sikh community.

Additionally, the delegation requested the exemption of Gurdwaras from property tax. In response, the Chief Minister instructed officials to implement this exemption immediately. He also directed officials to provide benefits for Granthis (priests) in Gurudwaras, ensuring they receive similar privileges as priests, pastors, and Imams.

Furthermore, Chief Minister Jagan Reddy announced the declaration of Guru Nanak Jayanthi as a holiday on Kartika Pournami. He assured the delegation of his full support in establishing a minority educational institution, and a resolution regarding this matter will be passed in the upcoming cabinet meeting.

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of promoting the businesses of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) operated by various social groups. He instructed officials to expedite the decision-making process for all proposals related to these enterprises within ten days.

The meeting was attended by Minority Welfare Secretary Md Imtiaz, along with officials from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). The proactive steps taken by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy highlight the government’s commitment to the welfare and development of the Sikh community in Andhra Pradesh.
