A day after meeting the farmers and inspecting the crop that was damaged by incessant rains, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan demanded that the YCP government immediately help the farmers. He added that there was a time when Godavari districts were considered Annapurna, but now the farmers of this region are weeping with no help from the state government.
“The state government should purchase every grain that was damaged by rains. The irony is that only after my visit, there was action from the YCP government. How come the government, which did not have rice bags till yesterday, procured them overnight? This means that this government needs an external force to do justice for the farmers,” said Pawan Kalyan.
The Jana Sena chief warned that the YCP government is unnecessarily troubling farmers. “Some farmers met me yesterday, and they are being isolated by the officials. What kind of harassment is this? The government should be noble to ensure every farmer is provided assistance in these tiring times,” stated Pawan Kalyan.
Pawan also learned that farmers have not been credited the money for the previous crop, and he demanded that the YCP government immediately release funds. “It’s been almost four to five months that the farmers have not received money for the previous crop. Why is it so? Is this not betrayal?” questioned Pawan.
