The counting for Karnataka Assembly elections is going on and the Congress party is just touched the magic figure. 224 seats is the Karnataka Assembly capacity and the magic figure for majority is 113. Currently the Congress is trailing in 113 seats however the BJP is optimistic of forming a government.
The people of Karnataka have not given a clear majority to any party in the last couple of elections. With Congress just touching the magic figure, there are doubts on forming a government. Sensing the Congress’ victory, the BJP is now trying to reach out to the Congress candidates who have contested. Alerted by this the Karnataka Congress leadership led by former CM Siddharaimah and DK Sivakumar are contacting the Congress MLA candidates.
Arrangements are being made for all the Congress candidates to shift them to Bengaluru. From here, all the Congress MLA candidates are likely to be shifted to Hyderabad. From media reports rooms have been booked in many popular five star hotels in Hyderabad. It seems that 58 rooms have been reserved in a prominent hotel, 20 rooms at Novotel Hotel and another 20 rooms more in Park Hyatt Hotel. It is reported that some leaders from Karnataka have booked 18 rooms in Taj Krishna Hotel.
As the counting progresses, the camp politics would pick up in Karnataka and Congress is already on high alert to protect its candidates from the BJP.
