Akhilesh Meets KCR, What’s up?

Former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav arrived in Hyderabad on Monday morning and immediately headed to Pragathi Bhavan to meet Telangana CM KCR over lunch. Media reports suggest that their discussion will revolve around national politics.

This development is intriguing considering the current political climate in the country. Last month, opposition parties gathered in Bihar and decided to adopt the ‘One Constituency, One Seat’ formula to challenge the BJP. Akhilesh is reportedly involved in these opposition meetings and is affiliated with the Congress party in his home state of Uttar Pradesh.

Akhilesh’s sudden visit to Telangana and his meeting with KCR have changed the political dynamics. The motive behind Akhilesh’s visit is unclear. Did KCR invite him for the talks, or is Akhilesh taking the initiative? In the past, KCR and Akhilesh have held multiple discussions, united by their common goal of defeating the BJP. However, they have been searching for a larger platform to fight this battle.

KCR has been attempting to expand his political front, the BRS (Bharatiya Rashtravadi Samanta Party), to other states. He is seeking the support of regional parties in these respective states. However, KCR’s plans have not progressed as smoothly as expected, but he continues to pursue them.

Insiders from the BRS suggest that KCR is targeting BJP-ruled states, and with the support of regional parties, they aim to divide the votes. It is important to note that the BJP holds significant influence in Uttar Pradesh, and challenging CM Yogi Adityanath is a formidable task.
