Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had taken up the Amma Vodi programme prestigiously. Before the elections, Jagan said that the scheme would be implemented for all the children in a family but after being voted to power, he conveniently changed his words and it has transformed from “Amma Vodi for every mother” to “Amma Vodi for every child”, alleged the opposition parties.
The opposition leaders also alleged that even the funds for the scheme are not being disbursed properly. Jagan is just pressing the button at public meetings but the funds are getting deposited in the beneficiaries’ accounts only after a long wait.
In the wake of such a situation, TDP leader and former MLC BTech Ravi alleged that Amma Vodi funds were not reaching the beneficiaries and threatened to file a cheque bounce case against Jagan.
The TDP leader also alleged that funds were not getting deposited in more than half of the beneficiaries’ accounts. He also charged the YCP government with not depositing insurance amount for many farmers.
The CM says that the funds have been released but then why is the money not getting deposited into the accounts even after many days of pressing the button, he asked.
Usually, when we take a loan from somebody, we would encash the cheque but when it gets bounced, we lodged a cheque bounce complaint against the individual who issued the cheque. In the same way, we will lodge a cheque bounce case against Jagan, he said.
