10 Years Or Life For CBN With One Section – CBI Ex-JD Lakshmi Narayana

TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest has become a sensation. The TDP leaders and fans are condemning the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu, while BJP and Janasena also issued statements ridiculing the arrest.

Meanwhile, there were many speculations on the sections under which Chandrababu has been arrested. When the media asked former CBI JD Lakshmi Narayana about the same, he revealed that one particular section 409 levied on CBN could give him 10 years or life imprisonment.

While the remaining sections could lead to less than 7 years of imprisonment, Lakshmi Narayana opined that the chances for his arrest under those sections are bleak. But for 409, which will be levied for ‘misappropriation by a public servant’ could lead to imprisonment up to life from 10 years.

The Ex JD also said that Chandrababu should be presented in the court within 24 hours and CID may ask for custody and if it was rejected he might be sent to judicial custody. If CBN is sent to Judicial custody, there is a chance for bail application. The judge will be deciding this only after the remand report arguments.
