Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest in connection to the skill development scam case has shook the AP politics. However, various theories and speculations are being widely circulated online. While the opposition parties and their leaders strongly allege that this is vendetta politics, the ruling party leaders deny those allegations and argue that those who made a mistake shall be punished under the law. Of all the theories, here is an interesting one which is being circulated.
Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Bhuvaneswari’s wedding anniversary falls on 10th September. The couple tied the knot on 10 September, 1981 at Chennai’s Mountroad. By then, Chandrababu was serving as the Cinematography and Industries minister in the Congress government. NT Ramarao learned about Chandrababu’s work ability and hardwork and proposed the marriage of his daughter Nandamuri Bhuvaneswari. The couple was blessed with son Nara Lokesh on 29 January, 1983.
Just a day before Chandrababu’s 42nd wedding anniversary, he was arrested in the wee hours by the AP CID officials. So, TDP leaders strongly believe it is a political conspiracy and it could be a “gift” from AP CM Jagan to his political arch rival Chandrababu.
Situations took place at a rapid pace on 9th September and the TDP and opposition leaders were in utter shock over the arrest of Chandrababu. His arrest was kept as a top secret till it was made and his name is later included in the FIR of the skill development case.
Naidu was arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act in relation to the skill development scam case. Notices were served under 50(1) of CrPC. He was booked under the sections 120(B), 166, 167, 418, 420, 468, 465, 471, 409, 201, 109 read with 34 and 37 of IPC and sections 12, 13(2) read with 13(1)(c)&(d) of Prevention of Corruption Act.
Overall, it is a dramatic turn of events in AP politics. As elections are nearly 6 months away, the opposition leader’s arrest is going to be a hot topic.
