The arrest of former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has sparked speculation that the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre may be orchestrating this political drama. There are whispers that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy obtained clear support from Modi & Amit Shah to execute this plan. TDP leaders suggest that such a precise and calculated move couldn’t have been orchestrated by Jagan alone.
They claim that Jagan’s frequent visits to Delhi included discussions with Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah about this very issue. Arresting a former CM is no small feat, especially considering Naidu’s extensive experience in politics, they argue.
Given the speculation that the BJP might seek the YCP’s support in the upcoming 2024 elections, Naidu’s arrest represents a significant development in Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape.
The Centre’s stance on Naidu’s arrest remains a subject of keen interest. Despite differences, Naidu has maintained a close association with BJP’s Amit Shah and Narendra Modi. While the AP BJP leaders have expressed support for Chandrababu Naidu and condemned his arrest, the BJP’s central leadership has remained tight-lipped on the matter.
Naidu’s political journey has seen its fair share of ups and downs, from walking out of the NDA to his 2019 election strategy. With both the YSRCP and TDP eyeing potential alliances with the BJP, all eyes are on how Modi and Amit Shah will respond to Chandrababu’s arrest. Speculation abounds that the BJP may have been aware of these developments in advance, leaving political equations in flux and the public in anticipation of what lies ahead.
