Roja Faces Backlash for Calling Balayya “Mentalgaadu”

Ruling YCP’s MLA and Andhra Pradesh’s Tourism Minister RK Roja Reddy has once again made ‘Jabardasth’ like comments on TDP MLA and movie Superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna. After celebrating the arrest and bail-rejection of Chandrababu Naidu in an ecstatic way, she has now targeted Balayya as well, after the latter held a press meet other day, saying that he will take care of TDP and take it forward until Chandrababu comes out of the prison.

“After watching Balakrishna’s press meet, people of Andhra Pradesh are thinking only this. All these days people used to think that a Vennupotudaarudu (read Chandrababu) sat in that seat, while they are saying Mentalgaadu (read Balayya) sat there”, said Roja, adding that ‘Mentalgaadu’ is not her opinion but that of people. However, the satire in Roja’s tone didn’t go well even with the non-political fans of films and Balayya in particular.

Some commented that despite getting her political jumpstart with the blessings of Chandrababu Naidu back in 1999, Roja doesn’t even have ethics. She served as TDP Mahila Wing’s president and after losing the 2009 election she shifted her loyalties to the YSR-led Congress party. Some felt that Balayya gave her superhit films like Bhairava Dweepam, Gaandeevam, Peddhannayya and Bobbili Simham but the actress doesn’t have a bit of gratitude when it comes to lashing out at the Nandamuri hero.

When it comes to politics, some leaders like Roja don’t have control over the tongue if at all they have to splash mud on others, which is what neutral audiences are feeling right now.
