Politics in Andhra Pradesh have heated up suddenly with the arrest of opposition leader and former CM Chandrababu Naidu. This marked the announcement of TDP and Janasena electoral alliance, declared by Pawan Kalyan outside Rajahmundry Central Prison after having ‘Mulaqat’ with Chandrababu. This sounded the poll bugle even much ahead of the polls scheduled in AP in 2024.
Now, TDP is leaving no stone unturned to mount more pressure on the ruling party. TDP’s top leadership is reportedly in talks with some YSRCP sitting MLAs who are unhappy with the party and unsure about their future in the party. Buzz is that some interested YCP MLAs may jump into the TDP and the TDP feels this is the perfect time to poach.
Apparently, some YSRCP leaders are also not very happy with the decision of arresting Chandrababu ahead of 2024 polls as it may cause unwanted political tremors. TDP wants to woo such YCP netas as well in order to weaken the ruling party psychologically. TDP is of the opinion that YCP may be pushed into the defense mode if it gets any jolt in the form of losing its MLAs at this juncture.
Overall, politics in AP have spiced up with Naidu’s arrest. TDP seems to be using the whole arrest incident in its favour and trying to garner political mileage out of this.
