Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Working President and Telangana Industries and IT Minister, KT Rama Rao, has expressed his wholehearted support for the Women’s Reservation Bill currently under discussion in the Indian Parliament. He also said he would be happy to lose his seat for women.
During the inauguration of the International Tech Park in Madhapur, KTR conveyed his willingness to relinquish his MLA seat once the bill is passed in order to promote increased female representation in the assembly and parliament.
Addressing a foreign woman delegate at the event, KTR stated, “The Indian Parliament is actively deliberating the Women’s Reservation Bill, which we wholeheartedly welcome. We aspire to witness the rise of more women leaders, and if it necessitates me giving up my seat, I am ready to do so. We all have a finite period of effectiveness, and I believe I have contributed my share.”
KTR also took the opportunity to highlight Hyderabad as an ideal destination for investments. He emphasized the city’s role in global vaccine production. KTR reassured prospective investors of the government’s support, pledging that they would receive full assistance.
