I am pained for being jailed, Naidu To Judge

Chandrababu

The ACB court in Amaravati has extended the judicial remand of Opposition leader and TDP boss N. Chandrababu Naidu by two days.

Naidu, while speaking to the ACB court judge, told her that he was put behind the bars for no fault of his and that the people of Andhra Pradesh and the entire country know about his integrity. “I am pained for being jailed without any substantial evidence of doing a wrong,” he lamented.

The judge told Naidu that she noted down all the points mentioned by him and that everybody was equal before the law.

When Naidu claimed that he was jailed only as part of ‘political vendetta’, she told him that he was put behind the bars following allegations.

“The truth behind all the charges against you will be known only during the investigation.”

The judge also told Naidu not to treat the remand period as a punishment but only consider it as the legal procedure.

She told Naidu that he was put behind the bars only as part of the legal process and asked him if he was facing any difficulties in the jail.

She also directed the authorities to submit a report about the facilities in the prison.

Probably, this direction from the judge could be as part of response to Naidu son Lokesh’s allegations that YCP president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was conspiring to kill his father in the jail itself.

Lokesh expressed concern that his father was likely to catch dengue due to the mosquito menace on the prison premises.
