The political scene in Andhra Pradesh (AP) has become increasingly contentious. The arrest of opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu and following consequences has built a tense moment in the state. Amidst all this, there is widespread speculation that the state may go for early polls. Rumours were rife that CM Jagan may dissolve the Assembly and call for early elections.
Now, none other than CM Jagan himself addressed all the 175 Assembly constituency incharges, sitting MLAs, MLCs, regional coordinators at CM camp office the other day. Jagan asked the leaders to work round the clock and stated that the next 5 months is going to be very crucial.
He said the tickets would be allocated to the candidates only based on the survey reports and their performance reports. He asked the leaders to not get offended in case the tickets are not allocated. He said the leaders would be compensated through the nominated posts and other posts after forming the new government.
The key takeaway from CM Jagan’s speech is that there would not be any early elections. Since CM Jagan himself stated that the next five months will be crucial, it is indicative that the state may go to polls as per the regular schedule. So, there will be no immediate tense moments as there are no signs of immediate polls in AP.
