Telangana Congress: Daughter Gets Ticket, Son Snubbed

With the assembly elections just about a month from now, Telangana already caught up with the heat of prominent political parties announcing the list of candidates contesting and the the ones who were snubbed and upset. Many leaders from the political parties are expressing their anguish for not getting the ticket to contest.

The latest one to join the list is PJR’s son ex-MLA Vishnu Vardhan Reddy. The Congress party released a list of 45 candidates in the second announcement and Vishnu Vardhan Reddy did not find his name on it. Vishnu Vardhan was confident about contesting from the Jubilee Hills constituency and even started the campaign. In a shock to him, the Congress party announced ex-cricketer Azharuddin as the candidate.

Azharuddin was eyeing the Jubilee Hills seat for a long time and he tried to organize a meeting in Jubilee Hills. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy’s men barricaded him and sent him back then. Now the Congress high command giving the ticket to Azharuddin has severely upset Vishnu Vardhan Reddy. Vijaya Reddy, the sister of Vishnu Vardhan Reddy was given Khairatabad ticket.

Vishnu Vardhan questioned the party heads how the ‘rule’ of two contestants from the same family applies only to him while others got their tickets. He advised the party to understand who is more important. Vishnu questioned how Congress gave the tickets to the people who are in no way related to Jubilee Hills, the only constituency Congress has a chance to win in Telangana.

Vishnu Vardhan Reddy said he would reveal his plans soon and it is heard that Vishnu Vardhan Reddy has made up his mind to contest as an independent.
