Several key files of the Telangana government were gutted in a fire mishap that occurred at the tourism department head office in Himayatnagar in Hyderabad in the early hours of Friday. Though the incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, it came to light only in the afternoon.
Several files relating to the tourism and forest departments were gutted in the mishap.
On information, the fire personnel rushed to the place and doused the flames. CPI national secretary Narayana said that the mishap smacked of ulterior motive. He said that there was a conspiracy behind the mishap and that the files were intentionally burnt fearing that the BRS government’s corruption would get revealed if there was a change in the government, following the elections.
Narayana visited the office which was gutted in the fire and demanded a high-level inquiry into the incident. Though short circuit was said to be cause of the fire, Narayana said that tourism department MD Manohar was hand in glove with the BRS leadership in carrying out the corrupt activities. He said the mishap was not accidental but intentional.
It is pertinent to note that recently, Manohar was suspended by the EC for violation of the model code of conduct, which is now leading to suspicion.
The CPI has allied with the Congress during the 2023 Assembly elections. The Congress allocated Kothagudem seat to the CPI as part of seat sharing.
