Revanth Reddy Rejects Convoy: Here’s Why

Revanth Reddy will be taking charge as the new chief minister of Telangana in sometime now. But he has rejected his official CM convoy and here’s why.

Revanth landed in Delhi last night as he returned from Delhi. He was greeted by the DGP of Hyderabad, Ravi Gupta. The official CM convoy was also brought to the airport.

However, Revanth skipped travelling in the convoy and instead went in his own vehicle. Revanth told the DGP “I’m not the chief minister yet, why do I need the convoy now?” and turned down the convoy. Revanth said he doesn’t need the convoy till he takes charge as the CM.

Saying so, Revanth left to the Ella Hotel where other Congress MLAs have been staying. But the DGP followed Revanth’s car along with the convoy as he opined it is for security reasons that Revanth is convoyed as per the protocol security.

Revanth followed the ethical route of denying the convoy till he takes charge as the chief minister of Telangana. He anyway has the next five years to travel in his customary CM convoy.
